Rahul joined L1 in 2026 as Partner and Head of India, responsible for direct investing strategy in India and building the L1 India franchise across all our core sectors. He brings more than 20 years of investment experience spanning private equity and long-term institutional capital. Before joining L1, he was Managing Director, Private Capital at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) in Mumbai. Prior to this he worked at The Carlyle Group, where he led and executed investments across multiple sectors including healthcare, consumer and consumer tech. Rahul has invested more than US$ 2.5bn in his PE career across these firms and has been on 10+ boards. He is a computer engineer and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management.
